# Which Printing Method do I Use?

If you don't know how to print, this page contains the basic differences and use cases for each of the three methods employed on campus.

- **Web Printing**
    - Students are expected to use this method of printing. Faculty and staff can also utilize web printing as an option for [Secure Printing](https://helpdesk.brynathyn.edu/books/printing/page/secure-printing "Secure Printing").
    - See [Web Printing](https://helpdesk.brynathyn.edu/books/printing/page/web-printing "Web Printing") for instructions.
- **PaperCut**
    - Faculty and staff can use PaperCut to access the virtual printer FindMe. Not only does this allow them to queue a document and decide which copier to pick it up from later, but it is also their primary method for [Secure Printing](https://helpdesk.brynathyn.edu/books/printing/page/secure-printing "Secure Printing").
    - See [PaperCut](https://helpdesk.brynathyn.edu/books/printing/page/papercut "PaperCut").
- **Direct Printing**
    - If PaperCut is not working or it is more convenient to print in the traditional way directly to a copier, direct printing can be set up, although the process is notably more complex than the other two methods.
    - See [Direct Printing](https://helpdesk.brynathyn.edu/books/printing/page/direct-printing "Direct Printing").
